Dr. Seif, Ph.D., ABPP is a master clinician who has spent the last thirty five years developing innovative and highly successful treatment methods for anxiety disorders including: Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Specific Phobias, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
A founder and founding board member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, Dr. Seif also served on its Clinical Advisory Board.
Dr. Seif is an author and lecturer: he is co-author, with Sally Winston of “What Every Therapist Needs to Know About Anxiety Disorders; Key concepts, insights, interventions.” (Rutledge, 2014), “Overcoming Unwanted Intrusive Thoughts: A CBT-Based Guide to Getting Over Frightening, Obsessive, or Disturbing Thoughts“, (New Harbinger, 2017), and Needing to Know for Sure: A CBT-Based Guide to Overcoming Compulsive Checking and Reassurance Seeking (New Harbinger, 2019), and his newest book “Overcoming Anticipatory Anxiety: A CBT Guide for Moving Past Chronic Indecisiveness, Avoidance, and Catastrophic Thinking.” He has lectured at the American Psychological Association, The International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, The Anxiety and Depression Association.
Dr. Marty Seif is also a specialist in the treatment of fear of flying, and has had face-to-face contact with more fearful fliers than any other clinician in the United States. From the years 2000 until 2017, he ran an airport based group program for fearful fliers called Freedom to Fly, helping hundreds of fearful fliers fly comfortably.
From 1999 until 2019, Dr. Seif functioned as the Associate Director of the Anxiety and Phobia Treatment Center for White Plains Hospital Center. He is also on the voluntary faculty of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he has trained psychiatric residents and psychology fellows.

Marty Seif has experienced first-hand the crippling effects of anxiety. He understands from the inside-out what those overwhelming sensations and fears feel like and how debilitating they can be. He has experienced the effects of panic disorder, and is a former fearful flier who now flies comfortably. His personal path to recovery led him to contribute to the forms of treatment that has helped thousands of people reclaim their lives.
